Armin Langer

Hello and welcome!

My name is Armin Langer. I am the Rabbi of Congregation Shir Hadash in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I hold a Ph.D. in sociology from Humboldt University of Berlin and studied philosophy and Jewish studies in Budapest, Jerusalem, Potsdam, and Washington, D.C. I was ordained by the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia.

I have previously taught at the University of Florida and have held teaching and pulpit roles in Jewish communities in Pennsylvania, Texas, Mexico, Sweden, Germany, Austria, and Hungary. My work explores the intersections of religion, migration, race, and culture, and I write for both academic journals and popular media outlets.

Mein Name ist Armin Langer. Ich bin Rabbiner der Congregation Shir Hadash in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
